Many people today are told their labs “look normal,” even if they present with common signs of hormonal imbalance like fatigue, weight gain, heavy periods, cravings, etc. Why does this happen? Because “normal” ranges according to many labs today are based on sick populations.

Which is why many people suffering from hormonal imbalances don’t find solutions.

But don’t worry, by listening to today’s empowering podcast with the founder of Healing Rosie, Misty Williams, you can learn all about the difference between NORMAL and OPTIMAL. She’s even created a lab tracker that you can download for FREE so that you know exactly how your labs should look in order to thrive rather than survive. Don’t miss this one, friends!

In the past few months I’ve been traveling like a maniac! From Austin, TX to Vale, CO over to Scottsdale, AZ and I’ll be off to Los Angeles in just a few short weeks. And as I am sure you know, traveling is STRESSFUL. It’s awesome and exciting and I love it, but it can also single handedly kill your health groove and momentum, if you let it. Believe me, I see it all the time in people I work with, and I’ve also experienced it myself. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be this way! With a little strategy, you can travel your heart out and keep your health in check. All you have to do is listen to this week’s podcast with former actor, fitness trainer and founder of Open Sky Fitness, Rob Dionne. And don’t forget to share this awesome info with all the wanderlusts in your life. <3

I used to feel STUCK.

My relationships were suffering, my career wasn’t where I wanted it to be and most days I felt like I was spinning my wheels.

Thankfully, one day I came across a podcast with Mary Shores about how we create our realities with our WORDS. At first I was skeptical, but once I heard her story and read her book, I was blown away by how profoundly different life can be when we choose our words (and therefore create our realities) with INTENTION.

Whether or not we realize it, our words control the course of our lives which is why today’s podcast is all about Conscious Communications and the many ways it can change your life. I hope this information is as helpful for you as it’s been for me. <3

There are days when eating perfectly just isn’t going to happen. Think holidays, travel days and “oneofthosedays” days. I know you know what I mean. There are also times when I want to lose a few pounds quickly or kick back, think less about what I’m eating AND still feel awesome.

It’s during these instances that I LOVE intermittent fasting (IF).

I used to be one of those girls who couldn’t do ANYTHING before or during her period.

Cramps.
Irritability.
Fatigue.
Bloating.
Cravings.

I was basically out of commission for 10 solid days a month. Then, through my holistic health studies, I learned that PMS is NOT normal. My crazy period was basically my monthly “report card” telling me something wasn’t right.

After a ton of research into how to balance my hormones I found author of Period Repair Manual, Lara Briden. Dr. Briden has been working in women’s health for over 20 years and her tips and tricks have helped hundreds of women finally find balance. After implementing her strategies I barely even notice my cycle every month! Tune in to this week’s podcast to find out exactly what Dr. Briden recommends.

I suffered from acne for over 12 years. Not just the occasional pimple either, but the kind that stole my confidence and made me want to hide out in my house.

At first it was “just something I had to deal with as a teen,” but when I got into my 20’s and 30’s and it was STILL lingering, I knew it was time to do something to get the root of my skin issues.

Acne is NOT something you just have to deal with, it’s a sign of imbalance, and now that I’ve identified and addressed my imbalances, I’m acne free! (unless I eat garlic, that is!)

So if you’ve got skin issues listen (or know or love someone who does) tune into this week’s podcast to see what I (and my dietician friend and fellow FDN-P practitioner, Amanda Montalvo) did to clear up our skin for good!

Do you know how to activate your vagus nerve?

If you said “no” you may be missing out on one of the most underutilized strategies for healing things like:

Digestive issues
Gallbladder dysfunction
Food sensitivities
Anxiety & Depression
Autoimmune disease

In fact, according to author and functional medicine specialist, Dr. Habib...

“100% of those with autoimmune issues and digestive issues have vagus nerve dysfunction.”

Did you know that the QUALITY of your relationships can make or break your health?

I think most of us are aware of the research demonstrating that people with MORE social ties have better health outcomes. But what I don’t think is talked about often enough is that the QUALITY of your social ties is just as (if not, more) important.

In fact, a recent Harvard study revealed that…

“...high conflict marriages are worse for our health than divorce.”

This same research also found that when looking at the data from the 700 participants in the Harvard Study of Adult Development...

“...It wasn’t their middle aged cholesterol levels that predicted how they were going to grow old, it was how satisfied they were in their relationships. The people who were the most satisfied in their relationships at age 50 were the healthiest at age 80.”

My point is...when it comes to health, it’s not about having a lot of relationships, it’s about having high quality, “securely attached” relationships.

Imagine being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 9 years old.

After 10 years of trying to successfully manage your condition to no avail you end up in a freshman biology course that finally helps you understand WHY you developed an autoimmune disease and why chronic disease rates are rising rapidly.

And most importantly, WHAT you need to do to feel better than you ever have in your life.

This is what happened to this week’s podcast guest, board certified chiropractic and Functional Medicine practitioner, Dr. Stephen Hussey.

Dr. Hussey has a bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness Promotion from the University of North Carolina Asheville, a Master’s in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine and a Doctorate of Chiropractic both from the University of Western States. He is the author of The Health Evolution: Why Understanding Evolution is the Key to Vibrant Health and The Heart: Our Most Medically Misunderstood Organ.

Dr. Hussey is passionate and super nerdy (in the best possible way!) which made for a fascinating conversation! Here are some of the fascinating tidbits you’re in for...

What he did to manage his autoimmune condition
The food group that was wreaking havoc on his gut health
The 4 principles of evolution that explain the rise in chronic disease
The 5 imbalances that cause chronic disease
What 3 things TRULY cause heart disease
Why I used to pass out in high school
And so much more!

I hope you listen in and feel ENLIGHTENED and EMPOWERED, and then share this important information with everyone you know and love.

Thanks for listening!

If there is ONE thing that concerns me deeply, it’s the fact that mental health issues are on the rise in a big way. In fact, according to the WHO, between 1990 and 2013 the number of people suffering from depression and/or anxiety increased by almost 50%!

Today, depression is the major cause of suicide, certain people become suicidal shortly after using antidepressants and almost ⅓ of of those treated with antidepressant therapy, do NOT respond.

That. Is. Terrifying.

Are you consuming a paleo diet yet still struggling with digestive issues or symptoms of hormonal imbalance such as stubborn weight gain, fatigue, skin breakouts or PMS?

If so you MUST listen to this week’s podcast, Cultivating Body Wisdom (and healing from the root cause!) with Registered Dietitian and FDN-P (and one of my favorite people), Amanda Montalvo.

I met Amanda at Paleo FX last year and fell in love immediately. She was passionate, educated and as nerdy as I was about all things wellness. As we got to know each other better, we realized that we were attracting the same type of clients:

Motivated women who were eating a paleo diet, but were still stuck.

Have you ever heard of HRV testing?

If not, you’re going to want to keep reading ESPECIALLY if you want to optimize your diet and lifestyle without spending thousands of dollars on expensive testing.

According to Dr. Cabeca, for 50% of women today, symptoms like...

Weight gain
Hot flashes
PMS
Breast tenderness
Fatigue
Reduced sex drive
Insomnia
Incontinence

Seem to be just part of growing older.

But did you know that these annoying and common symptoms are not actually a “normal” part of aging but are instead symptoms that your hormones are out of whack?!

Feb 1, 2019

Did you know that bipolar disorder can sometimes be improved by stabilizing blood sugar?

That eliminating gluten has been shown to improve schizophrenia?

Or that anxiety and depression can be effectively managed via dietary intervention?

YES.

It’s actually possible to eat your way to mental health.

Did you suffer from pelvic pain, menstrual cramps, incontinence, CONSTIPATION, or pain during intercourse?

If so, I want you to know that these issues may be common they are NOT normal. They are not just things you have to put up with as your grow older. In fact, they are often missed signs of a weak pelvic floor.

Now, before you tell me how diligent you are about doing your kegels, please know that for some women kegels can actually make things WORSE.

Jan 15, 2019

Does your paleo lifestyle ever make you feel isolated?

Maybe you feel like the “difficult” one at parties
Maybe you dread the “gluten” conversation around the holidays
Maybe you prepare a defense around why you don’t feed your children sugar for your family

Believe me, I get it. Back in the beginning of my “food is medicine” journey, it was extremely challenging to find people who understood what all the fuss is about. Who understood why I wanted to scream about the paleo lifestyle from the rooftops. Who understood how liberating it feels to use food as medicine, and take back your health.

Thankfully, that is no longer the case today due to a nifty little event called Paleo FX.

Have you ever wanted to know which probiotic on the market was the best of the BEST? And by best, I’m talking...

  • Backed by clinical research.
  • Created by a microbiologist
  • Guaranteed to survive the trip through the digestive tract.

In other words, a probiotic NOT created by a marketer like most other supplements?! If so, look no further. The perfect probiotic has officially been created and you can learn all about it on today’s podcast with the super smart, witty and brilliant, Kiran Krishnan. Don’t miss out! Taking this probiotic is like “putting your seatbelt on in a car,” so it’s pretty important stuff!
